HELPING PEOPLE HELP THEMSELVES
Casa de Amigos is a multicultural neighborhood center located in southeast Midland. We provide comprehensive services in four main areas: Adult and Youth Education, Social Services, Health & Wellness, and Senior Services. We provide direct services, casework, mentoring, and assistance navigating referrals to other appropriate services. A complete spectrum of essential needs is served through one central location.
ADULT AND YOUTH EDUCATION
Adult Education offers English as a Second Language, General Educational Development (GED), Citizenship, Financial Literacy, and Take2 Job Skills Training.
The Youth Education Program provides after-school tutoring and homework help during the school year and a Summer Literacy Camp.
SOCIAL SERVICES
Social Services addresses the immediate needs of the individual and family. Services include an Emergency Food Pantry and Nutrition Center, student clothing, school supplies, holiday and seasonal assistance, casework, and referrals to appropriate agencies.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Health & Wellness provides health screenings, health education, a diabetes support group, and medical clinics.
SENIOR SERVICES
Senior Services maintains the Casa Senior Center, and manages and operates the Southeast and Midland Senior Centers which offer balanced programs of educational, social and recreational activities. Citywide Community Services provides home cleaning for low income and elderly clients.
