EDUCATION
Service Areas
- ADULT EDUCATION: Classroom instruction for General Education Development (GED) study, and English Language Development (ELD) classes plus Midland Need to Read site; informal adult education classes and computer lab for basic skills instruction as scheduled.
- YOUTH EDUCATION: Serves parent and teacher-referred students who are academically behind one grade level with individual tutoring and homework help; also provides onsite library for books, videos/DVDs and reference materials plus offers meeting space for Scouting, after school sewing, cooking, arts and cultural dance classes.
- FINANCIAL LITERACY: Provides financial education classes and training as scheduled and offers Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).
Who is eligible?
Under-educated youth and adults of all ethnic backgrounds.
Hours
9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, weekends as scheduled.
Fee
Most programs are free of charge, but clients may pay a small fee for program supplies.
Clients served
Nearly 1000 individuals served each year.
Service Provided
Over 56,000 units of service annually (defined as one person participating in one activity, i.e., sessions, classes, appointments, phone calls, etc. on one day).
