Volunteer Opportunities:
Education | Health/Dental Services | Social Services | Senior Services | Administration EDUCATION: Family Reading Project Tutor: Work with parent to enhance his/her ability to help their child, then work with both parent and child together. One hour twice a week. Training provided. AfterSchool Tutor : One on one tutoring in math and reading with 2nd or 3rd grader twice a week. Training provided. One-to-One Tutor: One-to-one tutoring in any subject for 1st through 12th grade students. Once or twice per week. Training provided. Homework Helper: Provide one-to-one assistance in homework for 1st through 12th grade students. One to four days per week for 1 - 2 ½ hours. Computer Literacy Instructor: Teach basic introductory computer course for adults twice a week for one semester. Exercise Instructor: Lead an exercise program for adults. One hour twice a week. GED Aide: Assist instructor with record-keeping and with individual student studies in math, reading, science, etc. Twice a week in mornings or evenings. English as a Second Language (ESL) Aide: Assist instructor with record-keeping, maintaining student portfolios and small groups to help with pronunciation and instructions. One or two days per week, Monday - Thursday morning or evening. Librarian: Maintain operation of library by checking books in and out and keeping library in order. One or more hours per week, preferably after 4:00 p.m. Service activity descriptions are available for each opportunity.
